In the myriad of changes Liverpool are making ahead of next season, one of the least mentioned but most important is the acquisition of their new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, who will help both Jürgen Klopp and the team's management to decide the medium and long-term future of the team, as when it comes to planning for next season, the decisions seem to have already been made.
The incredible thing about this new sporting director is the rapport he has with the German striker, and regardless of the fact that these two men are from the same country, they both know each other from way back when Jürgen Klopp was still in charge of Borussia Dortmund, with the Reds boss himself claiming that Jorg is a man who knows his way around the club.
Following reports on twitter by correspondent David Ornstein that Jorg will visit the city to finalise a deal to start work on the summer transfer window, it is believed that the new sporting director could take some of the doubts of both the third and top brass into consideration, with the departures of Roberto Firmino, Oxlade Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita, the loan of Curtis Jones and the addition of captain Jordan Henderson to the list of departures.
With the arrival of new reinforcements that could possibly displace the midfielder and captain of the team, Schmadtke could determine that Hendo could join the list not of casualties but of transferable for the summer, and is that both for the player and for the team would not be good to retain a man who can not exploit that experience on the field, being better option a sale to heal a little the finances of the team and that benefits the England international in a club that has him constantly in the starting line-up.
