Juventus' bid for Roberto Firmino did not go down well at Anfield, with the fee being described as "funny" by Liverpool officials, but some lights have been turned on as Firmino has just one year left on his contract at Anfield. The player in January will have the power to negotiate his exit with any club to leave as a free agent in June 2024, something that also raises concerns among Liverpool's board.

The one who does not want to hear of any more departures from the squad is Jürgen Klopp, who was the first Liverpool strongman to speak out about Juventus' €25m proposal.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Klopp replied: "If nobody wants to leave, we are full. Barring a serious injury, I hope not. But Liverpool fans can now start concentrating on other things," the DT said to close any door on possible arrivals or departures.

Following Liverpool's first refusal, Juventus are preparing a second bid for the Brazilian striker, however, unless the amount is close to the figure for which Sadio Mané left (€40m), it seems difficult for Anfield to budge on an offer.
