Jurgen Klopp believesCform is best explained by the amount of football the midfielder has been asked to play this season.

The Brazil international's performances have been questioned at times during a disappointing campaign that sees the Reds 15 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and eight away from Newcastle United in fourth after 12 games.

Fabinho has featured in all of Liverpool's dozen league matches so far and started nine of those as Klopp's men have struggled for the sort of fluency they showed last term when they finished their campaign with 92 points.

It's a disaster, Liverpool out of the Premier League title race and Klopp knows it

Part of the problem for the No.3's form, Klopp says, is the fact that injuries in midfield have not allowed the former Monaco man to be rested at various points throughout the campaign, but Liverpool boss says he has not spoken too deeply with Fabinho about the concerns.

Could This Be The End Of Fabinho

"There is no real explanation and no it is not because [system] is not an explanation," Klopp said. "Has he spoken to me about it? Not much, in a long career players have dips or whatever in performance, it is completely normal.

"Usually, you solve it by playing less often and stuff like this, but in our [injury] situation, Fab had to play through it all, so you get through it and get through it and at one point you can get back to yourself.

"That's how it is. If we have more options then we use [them] from time to time, it is to give him the chance to recover completely from the last game. It is how it is."
