Liverpool's surprise win over Manchester City at Anfield did not end in the best possible way for Jurgen Klopp and his players. While it is true that his side were able to take all three points and move up a couple of places in the Premier League, Diogo Jota's injury and the German manager's red card meant that the achievement did not feel entirely satisfying, leaving fans wondering what would happen to their player and manager.

Almost 48 hours after the events at Anfield, more details of Diogo Jota's unfortunate injury and Jurgen Klopp's breach of the rules emerged, with the Reds boss found to be in breach of FA rule E3 following his actions in the 86th minute of the match. The German reacted in anger by shouting at referee Antony Taylor after Mohamed Salah was brought down by Bernardo Silva.

Klopp's over the top claims were castigated by the central referee and subsequently by the FA who directly accused him of inappropriate behaviour, with the following statement from the Football Association coming to light. Jurgen Klopp has been charged with breaching FA rule E3 following the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Manchester City on Sunday .

Although it has now been confirmed that Klopp broke FA rules, the Reds boss will be free to take his place on the bench for his side's game against West Ham United on Wednesday night, offering an apology for his inappropriate reaction to the move during this morning's press conference. 'I still think I should have dealt with the situation differently. Normally I do, I'm not happy with my reaction, but that's the way it was and everyone saw it. After the FA published that Jurgen Klopp did break the rules, the FA also said the Reds boss will have until Friday this week to make a statement and offer a response to what happened a couple of days ago. It is alleged that the Liverpool FC manager's behaviour during the 86th minute of this game was inappropriate, and he has until Friday [21/10/22] to provide a response'.

On learning of the FA's partial verdict, Klopp will first concentrate on trying to get another three points when they visit London's Olympic Stadium to face the Hammers, with time after the game to consider his response to the FA on Friday, when his response will determine what his punishment will be.
