The 2022-2023 season was a major setback in what had been successful years for Liverpool, both in the Premier League and at continental level, as the team missed the target of qualifying for the Champions League and will have to settle for playing in the Europa League next season. Given this, the Reds could suffer the loss of some key players in Jürgen Klopp's scheme and Andrew Robertson could be one of them.

The left-back has been one of the pillars of Klopp's project in recent years and has won every trophy possible during the club's most recent golden era. However, it is inevitable to admit that during the last campaign he had very irregular performances that did not go unnoticed by the fans.

Despite this, Andy Robertson is still one of the best players in the world in his position and it is not surprising that big teams in Europe have him on their radar to reinforce their squads, because at 29 years old, the Transfernarkt portal has him valued at 48 million euros, so he could leave a good sum if he finally decides to leave Anfield.

In that sense, the team most interested in the Scottish international would be Real Madrid, who would be analyzing the signing of Robertson to occupy the Merengues' left back, although they are also considering sounding out FC Bayern's Alphonso Davies as another of their possibilities, so Robertson would not be the only option. However, Klopp does not want Andy to leave the team and would already have a plan to keep him with the Reds.

Robertson's new role with Liverpool

Jürgen Klopp does not want his first-choice left-back to leave the club this transfer window, and to convince him to stay he is planning to appoint him as one of the team's captains, to motivate him to stay at Anfield with the new project that promises to return Liverpool to the top of the Premier League.
