Liverpool have for some time now been working on the issue of possible reinforcements for 2023, and Jurgen Klopp has decided not to lag behind his main European rivals by trying to prepare good offers for the young gems who are currently looking to excel in Qatar, with the German tactician opting not only to marry the idea of promising players but also to start a new scouting process with profitable and lower-cost players.

While the names of Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Cristiano Ronaldo look attractive to any Anfield fan, the reality is that both they and the club will always opt for lesser-known players with very similar qualities to the elite, with Liverpool already turning their sights on the likes of Ruben Neves and Konrad Laimer.

Although the Wolverhampton Wanderers player has been the subject of interest from several teams over the last year with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona, the reality is that the prospect of being at a more structured institution such as Liverpool may sound more attractive to the midfielder, with the proof of success in his national team-mate Diogo Jota, who in three seasons in red at Anfield has managed to make that much-needed leap in quality.

On the other hand, Konrad Leimer could be a less risky bet for Jurgen Klopp at the moment, as the Austrian's contract with Red Bull Leipzig expires next summer, which could facilitate his arrival on Merseyside. If the Bundesliga side do not want to lose out financially on the midfielder, he could see a move to the Reds as soon as this winter, albeit at a much reduced value that would benefit Klopp and the club's finances.

Klopp wants big money signings

It is worth remembering that the last time Klopp tried to take advantage of his "economic" reinforcements, things did not work out well, as in those years Naby Keita and Alexander Oxlade-Chamberlain could not perform as expected, with both midfielders being out of the bench for much of the season due to injuries, and now the German coach wants to get rid of them to make way for new players who do not have those failures.
