The summer transfer window is just over two weeks away and our Liverpool urgently needs to get at least a couple more reinforcements with the priority being the arrival of a defensive midfielder who can help the team strengthen the defensive part of the lineup, as against Chelsea the team struggled in that area.
In that sense, during the last few weeks the Anfield board has tried to sign players that are to the liking of Jürgen Klopp, but so far they have not been able to finalize the arrival of the third reinforcement of the team. Just a few days ago the team suffered a blow when they were rejected by Moises Caicedo, an Ecuadorian defensive midfielder for whom Liverpool were willing to pay a record transfer fee of £110 million.
Now that Caicedo will join Chelsea, Liverpool would again focus on signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton for whom they have already tabled a fourth bid of £60 million to sign him. However, it has been reported that Chelsea are also interested in the 19-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder and are preparing a bid to compete with Liverpool.
Given this, Jürgen Klopp could have an alternative and for this he would look to the Eredivisie, as it has been reported that the Reds want to take a defensive midfielder for whom they would have to pay only £32 million.
According to the Liverpool Echo, it has been learned that 25-year-old Ibrahim Sangaré, who belongs to PSV, has a £32M termination clause. In addition, the brother of Sangaré's agent revealed that Liverpool is one of the three teams interested in the Ivorian midfielder alongside PSG and FC Bayern.
