Uruguay's Darwin Nunez scored twice in Liverpool's 4-1 win over Milan in the Dubai Super Cup on Friday. After his participation in the Qatar 2022 World Cup with the Uruguayan national team, the striker had joined the Reds training this Tuesday under the technical orders of German coach Jürgen Klopp in the United Arab Emirates.
Liverpool, who lost 3-1 to Lyon last Sunday, played Milan on Friday and opened the scoring after just five minutes through Mohamed Salah. After 29 minutes, Saelemaekers equalised for the Italians, but late in the first half Thiago Alcantara put the English side back in front.

In the 59th minute, Klopp made six changes, including the introduction of Núñez for the Brazilian Roberto Firmino. The Uruguayan made it 3-1 at 81 minutes after being set up by Bobby Clark and finishing calmly past Italian goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, and seven minutes later he scored his second goal after finishing off a good run down the right by team-mate Ben Doak, a 17-year-old Scotsman.
As per tournament rules, the two teams went to a penalty shoot-out, with the Rossoneri winning 4-3 (Nunez took and converted Liverpool's fifth penalty to equalise, but Pierre Kalulu then scored the winner for Milan).
Klopp's side return to official action on Thursday 22 December when they face Manchester City in the last 16 of the League Cup at the Etihad Stadium, while on Monday 26 they are away again but face Aston Villa at Villa Park in the 17th Premier League fixture.
