Liverpool matched their biggest-ever Premier League thrashing by nine goals to nil at Anfield against AFC Bournemouth to take the first three points of the competition in emphatic fashion. Jürgen Klopp's side also gave the German manager another record, taking his tally to 800 goals for the Reds.

Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliot opened the scoring after three and six minutes respectively, then Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the third just before the half-hour mark with a long-range effort into the top corner before Firmino netted the fourth after a deflected cross.
