Despite facing a team that has already been relegated, Liverpool had a very difficult game this Sunday in the closing stages of the Premier League season as they ended the first half with a 2-2 draw against Southampton despite having started with a two-goal lead but defensive errors cost them a momentary draw.

The game started favourably for the Reds as in the 10th minute Portugal's Diogo Jota scored to make it 1-0 after a blatant mistake by the Saints defence while in the 15th minute Roberto Firmino confirmed his good moment in his farewell to the team as he was on hand to score the 2-0 that seemed to put Liverpool on the road to victory.

However, the home side responded and in the 19th minute, captain Ward-Prowse scored his side's first goal. Then in the 28th minute, Ghanaian striker Sulemana made a great individual move to beat Liverpool defenders and beat Irish goalkeeper Kelleher to level the scores.

Klopp wants to convince Mane

The most striking aspect of this match was that Diogo Jota broke a five-match scoreless drought, something that had Jürgen Klopp very worried. He has been trying to convince Sadio Mané to return to Liverpool, as according to various reports from Germany it is a fact that he will not remain at Bayern Munich and his intention is to return to the Premier League, with Liverpool being the best option.
