While the most transcendental teams across Europe seek to convince their potential stars with solid sporting projects, in other less demanding competitions the main attraction that some institutions can offer is focused only on economic welfare, as it happened in the Chinese league and recently with the Saudi Arabian league.
One of the best examples of this situation lies in the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at the All-Nassr club at the beginning of 2023, with the Portuguese legend abandoning the high competition in the Premier League to prefer the millions of euros in Saudi Arabia, being once again the highest paid player in the world, far exceeding even the high salaries paid at clubs such as Manchester City or PSG.
After the media success of Ronaldo's arrival in the Middle East, this league is looking to repeat the formula with more players of the Portuguese's calibre, with Real Madrid's star striker Karim Benzema being tempted at the moment, and from England there is talk of a possible Arab interest in Liverpool's Egyptian legend, Mohamed Salah, who could see his earnings grow exponentially even though on Merseyside he receives a large salary of almost £12 million a year.
The Reds' attacking player could be in a similar situation to the Madrid striker, with the French player's entourage said to be in talks with the Saudi Arabian government to work out a two-season deal with a salary that would be stipulated at 200 million euros, A figure that could easily be offered to the Egyptian who at the moment seems to be firm with his continuity at Anfield, but perhaps a good offer could fill the eyes of the African and an institution that would see the income of several million as a good way to heal their finances that are somewhat limited.
