Liverpool Under-21s came from behind against Tottenham at the Lamex Stadium to earn a 3-3 draw in Premier League 2 on Friday night. Romaine Mundle's goal put Spurs ahead at the Lamex Stadium and Yago Alonso extended their lead to three with a brace just before half-time.

Liverpool came back after the break and took a point thanks to goals from Luke Chambers, Max Woltman and substitute Harvey Blair. The response from Barry Lewtas' Reds was admirable.

Spurs' intent was immediately evident and they were able to open the scoring within 15 seconds, but the hosts celebrated after five minutes the impact of their strong early pressure. Tottenham were again rattled by a good chance from Mundle, who headed in a brace before the break.

Second half

Lewtas' side came out for the second half with renewed vigour, clearly convinced that the deficit was not insurmountable. That conviction was reinforced in the 53rd minute with Chambers' goal. The comeback intensified in the 69th minute. Spurs could no longer get out and Liverpool soon equalised.

Stewart had the ball in the net from Norris' low cross but was denied by an offside flag, while Nile John, unmarked, tapped home from a half-cleared Tottenham corner and the whistle sealed a point apiece at the end of a thrilling game.
