Matt Beard is a sensational manager and the players acknowledge that

Although she has been on teams like Arsenal or Chelsea, everyone knows that Liverpool is a bigger club than them, and that coming to this club is the biggest challenge in her career. Also for Liverpool is great news to have a player like her, because with 30 years old, she can bring a lot of experience to the team and bring good advice to the younger players.

She is also not a stranger to Matt Beard's work. They've been together a short time in West Ham United, where they lifted the FA Cup trophy in 2019. Actually, this is what Beard had to say about her: “I’ve worked with Gilly before and I followed her career when she was at Arsenal and Chelsea. She’s a fantastic defender, a great person, she’s a leader and I’m looking forward to working with her again."

How does she feel about coming to Liverpool

Gilly Flaherty of course talked to Liverpoolfc.com about her arrival to the club and this is what she had to say: “It feels great. When I left West Ham I was unsure of where I was going and then it only took one chat with Beardy and Russ [Fraser] to know how exciting it is to be here and the vision of this club as well. I’m so grateful I’ve been given the chance to join the family.”
