Although she has been on teams like Arsenal or Chelsea, everyone knows that Liverpool is a bigger club than them, and that coming to this club is the biggest challenge in her career. Also for Liverpool is great news to have a player like her, because with 30 years old, she can bring a lot of experience to the team and bring good advice to the younger players.

She is also not a stranger to Matt Beard's work. They've been together a short time in West Ham United, where they lifted the FA Cup trophy in 2019. Actually, this is what Beard had to say about her: “I’ve worked with Gilly before and I followed her career when she was at Arsenal and Chelsea. Gilly Flaherty of course talked to about her arrival to the club and this is what she had to say: “It feels great. When I left West Ham I was unsure of where I was going and then it only took one chat with Beardy and Russ [Fraser] to know how exciting it is to be here and the vision of this club as well. I’m so grateful I’ve been given the chance to join the family.”
