Liverpool Womens Team keeps getting better, now they have an experienced captain

Gilly Flaherty, former West Ham United's captain, is now a new Liverpool Women's Team player, the club made it official this monday. She was the captain of the hammers womens team for four long years, she ended contract in May and now joins Liverpool to continue her legacy in one of the biggest clubs in the world.

She is also not a stranger to Matt Beard's work. They've been together a short time in West Ham United, where they lifted the FA Cup trophy in 2019. Actually, this is what Beard had to say about her: “I’ve worked with Gilly before and I followed her career when she was at Arsenal and Chelsea. She’s a fantastic defender, a great person, she’s a leader and I’m looking forward to working with her again."

How does she feel about coming to Liverpool

Gilly Flaherty of course talked to Liverpoolfc.com about her arrival to the club and this is what she had to say: “It feels great. When I left West Ham I was unsure of where I was going and then it only took one chat with Beardy and Russ [Fraser] to know how exciting it is to be here and the vision of this club as well. I’m so grateful I’ve been given the chance to join the family.”
