Mohammed Kudus gave Ghana the win over South Korea with his brace and is now in Liverpool's transfer orbit. In England they are calling him the new Luis Diaz because of his good performance against the English in the Champions League when he was playing for Porto and the timing of his arrival at the Reds: mid-season, just as Kudus did in 2022.
"Liverpool have developed a habit of signing players who have made an impact against the Reds under Jurgen Klopp," they claimed in Liverpool Echo, where they analysed what would be the arrival of Kudus to the English side in the next transfer window and compared it to what happened at the time with Diaz.

"Luis Diaz, Alisson Becker and even Ragnar Klavan did enough on the European stage against the Reds to get them signed," they added. Liverpool officially unveiled the Colombian on 30 January this year and are now looking to buy the Ghanaian midway through the campaign as well. "Liverpool could be on the verge of signing the 'next Luis Diaz' after the scouting mission at the World Cup," was the headline of the article dedicated to the Ghanaian in Liverpool Echo. Several English fans also joined the call on social networks, who already associate the African with the Guajiro.
The Ajax midfielder scored against Liverpool on the second day of the Champions League group stage on 13 September. Luis Díaz also faced the Reds before he was signed. He did so playing for Porto and was one of the Portuguese side's star performers, even though the result did not go their way. All these coincidences led fans to compare Kudus to the 25-year-old striker.
The striker suffered a niggling knee injury in the Premier League match against Arsenal. That happened on 9 October and it has been reported that the player is expected to return to action for the League Cup quarter-final against Manchester City on 22 December. Jurgen Klopp's assistant coach revealed that Diaz will be in the squad for the friendly matches during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Lyon and Milan will be the opponents to face on 11 and 16 December.
