Liverpool are currently five points behind Manchester City in the Premier League table as they prepare to welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield on Monday night after Pep Guardiola's side beat Bournemouth 4 goals to 0 on Matchday 2.

Liverpool host Crystal Palace on Monday night, where pundits agree Jurgen Klopp's side must learn from the points lost to Fulham and start with Darwin Nunez.

The Reds drew 2-2 on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Nunez, who joined Anfield from Benfica in a transfer worth up to £85m in June, started the game on the bench and made a decisive impact after coming on in the second half.

The 23-year-old Uruguay striker scored Liverpool's opening equaliser and set up Mohamed Salah to equalise again after Fulham had momentarily restored their lead through Aleksandar Mitrovic. It looks like Nunez will start in place of Roberto Firmino against the Eagles.

The Reds are five points behind Manchester City heading into their match against Patrick Vieira's side. Although the season is still in its early stages, anything less than a win over Palace would be a major blow to Liverpool's title aspirations.
