The Premier League runners-up travelled to Craven Cottage and were held to a 2-2 draw by the newly-promoted side. Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were not enough to seal all three points as Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged himself a brace.

Fan's words

One wrote: “If Bellingham is the target and the only target, we have to go to Dortmund and put £100m on the table tomorrow. We can’t afford to wait a year and waste a season. It would be gross negligence not to sign a midfielder.”

Another said: “Liverpool have won 1 league title in 32 years. The world and his dog can see this squad needs reinforcement in midfield but we probably won't sign anyone. That gives you a hint as to why we have 1 title in 32 years. 'No midfielder in the world bar Bellingham can improve us' ha ha.”

A third chimed in: “Go away and sign Matheus Nunes now and buy Bellingham next summer, we don't just need 1 midfielder.” Another added: “Forget waiting for Bellingham we can get him next summed, we need some energy in midfield now.” A last one pipped up: “It’s surely now or never for Bellingham. We need him now before someone else signs him.”
