Virgil van Dijk, Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah were voted as some of the best players of the last 30 years, according to a vote organised by BT Sport on Twitter. Although Liverpool have had some of the best players in Premier League history, they have now made their presence felt on social media with the historic 11.

The "historic" 11

Although most of the players are post-1992: 'Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Virgil van Dijk, Ashley Cole, Patrick Vieira, Steven Gerrard, Kevin De Bruyne, Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Mo Salah', are part of this 11 that was chosen. Perhaps another player who excels at Anfield, Luis Suarez, could have been in the squad, but it's hard to say who he should replace.

Longevity in the division seems to have weighed in favour of the three Liverpool lads who were selected and it's a pretty impressive team to watch.

In time, it shouldn't be a surprise to see Trent Alexander-Arnold displace the former Manchester United right-back, but due to his age - he'll probably have to wait for the 35-year-old and onwards. Either way, we can be happy with the players selected and look forward to future stars coming into it.
