Great news that has been made official, as our Liverpool announced a new long-term partnership with Google Pixel to become the club's official cell phone partner, this after last month signing a new deal with Peloton, a New York-based exercise equipment and media company.
It's no secret that good news hasn't abounded around our Liverpool since several weeks ago when the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai was announced, as since then the team has searched for its third reinforcement without success.
On the contrary, since then even more departures from the team have been confirmed, with the two most important departures this summer being Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, who decided to leave Anfield to join the long list of players who left European football to join the economically powerful Saudi Pro League where they will earn multi-million dollar salaries.
That is why this new agreement with Google Pixel represents good news for our Liverpool, as the club's official statement details that one of the main objectives to be achieved with this agreement is to close the visibility gap between men's and women's football, in addition to bringing fans even closer using Google Pixel phones. But there is also the economic aspect that could greatly benefit our club.
According to journalist Dave Ockop, the deal between Liverpool FC and Google Pixel will increase the club's commercial income by £247 million annually. "We are incredibly proud to be announcing this partnership between Liverpool FC and Google Pixel. At LFC, it is important to us that we are not only partnering with the biggest and most exciting brands, but that the brands we are partnering with allow us to offer something of real value to our supporters" said Ben Latty, commercial director at Liverpool FC.
