Liverpool was shaping up to be one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer market, and things got off to a good start for the Reds as in a matter of days they secured the arrival of their first signing, Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, who also just won the World Cup with Argentina's national team in Qatar 2022.
After making Mac Allister's arrival official, it was said that Liverpool would sign several more players, as the signing of the Argentine midfielder would only be the first step in the reconstruction that Jürgen Klopp has planned for the squad. However, the second signing has not yet arrived.
Several names of players have been linked with a possible arrival at Anfield, as Klopp has a long list of targets and the board is carefully analyzing who could best fit into the club's financial plans. However, if a player who really interests Klopp comes forward, the board would have no qualms about coughing up a good amount of money to secure his transfer.
Such seems to be the case of Federico Chiesa, who currently plays for Juventus in Serie A and has aroused the interest of the German tactician, who would see him as a player capable of making an immediate contribution to the team, but also as a natural replacement for Mohamed Salah when the Egyptian decides to leave or retire. Given this, Klopp seems willing to do whatever it takes to bring Chiesa to Anfield as soon as possible.
According to the SportMediaset portal, the Liverpool board already made the first contact with Federico Chiesa's agent, Cali Ramadani, and in that conversation they would have assured him of a salary "that Juventus could not match". Currently the Juventus player who earns the most is Dusan Vlahovic, who earns 13 million euros a year, so it would be fair to think that Liverpool's offer to Chiesa would exceed that amount.
