The transfer window ahead of the 2022-2023 season closes next Thursday, 1 September, at 11.59pm, which will be the last time teams can register new players, because after that it will be until December-January before transfers can take place again.

Although it is not certain that Liverpool will make one more signing this summer, there are several rumours linking the club to at least 3 players: Jude Bellingham, Moises Caicedo and finally, a much more recent rumour that has gained momentum is that of Enzo Fernandez, an Argentinian midfielder who plays for Benfica.

Benfica manager Roger Schmidt admitted they could lose Enzo Fernandez after he was linked with a move to Anfield. Fernandez, who joined the Portuguese club this summer from River Plate, has quickly won admirers in European football. He has scored three goals in seven games and played a part in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Klopp's words

"Let me put it this way, every now and then I would be willing to risk a little bit more, but I don't decide and then it's OK because that's the way I am, we try everything until someone tells us here is the deadline and we can't do anything anymore. At that moment, I don't think back for a second," he said when answering about last-minute signings.

"That's what we all have to do then. Let's go from there, let's do something special with this team now. It's a great team and they have everything. Yes, we've already had problems, we haven't always played great football, but we're going to try to squeeze everything out of them this season. That's the only thing I understand, to be honest. That's all," he added.
