Prior to the game against Crystal Palace, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino joined Liverpool's injury list, a fact that affected Jurgen Klopp's player selection decisions, with a list of problems seemingly compounding the crisis after Darwin Nunez was sent off in the game.

In Matip's case, he missed the game against Crystal Palace at Anfield with a muscle strain and could return in two weeks, according to Klopp, while Firmino was absent as a precaution, with the manager saying only: "Bobby couldn't make it."

These cases are in addition to Thiago Alcantara, who went off injured in the second half of the game against Fulham and will be out for at least five more weeks, Ibrahima Konate, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Calvin Ramsay and Caoimhin Kelleher.

As for Jota, the striker, who recently signed a long-term contract with Liverpool, is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem and is likely to take a few more weeks to recover. Siminar is the case with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who suffered a serious hamstring injury during the friendly with Crystal Palace in Singapore and has no return date yet.

In the case of suspensions, Darwin Nunez will be handed a three-match ban following his dismissal against Crystal Palace in Monday night's 1-1 draw at Anfield. Nunez will miss three Premier League games, including next Monday's game against Manchester United, where he could have shone in the Reds' attack.
