The season-ending lull in the transfer window has left the Pool at the point where they are looking for new players to help the club return to the top of the Premier League. As that happens Klopp and FSG are aware that they must make room in the squad and thus, have some breathing space on the top payroll.

According to the latest reports from Goal's Neil Jones, Joel Matip's future this summer will depend on what kind of offers arrive, and what kind of player Liverpool could get to take his place. This would open the door for Sepp Van den Berg is wanted by Jürgen Klopp's former club Mainz 05, according to Liverpool Echo.

The relegation of a club, always brings great losses both financially and players who for the good of both parties, decide to leave, for example Sepp Van den Berg Schalke 04 player would be back in the orbit of Jürgen Klopp, as the defender is on loan by the Red's.

Anfield signings start to arrive

The arrival of Alexis Mac Allister is just the start of the new face of The Pool, which is set for big things this summer. Van den Berg could partner Virgil van Dijk in defence, with the two also being team-mates in the Netherlands national team. The possible departure of the talented Joel Matip would open the door for Sepp to leave the Bundesliga and come home again.
