Liverpool's on-loan youngsters continue to surprise in their teams. Leighton Clarkson scored twice in three games north of the border as the Dons beat St Johnstone 1-0 in the Scottish Premiership at McDiarmid Park. "Leighton is a quality player who technically is absolutely fantastic," said manager Jim Goodwin.

"That free-kick was a real display of quality. Sometimes you need that bit of individual brilliance. When you sign players of that quality, you expect to have a game-winner. Technically, we know exactly what we're going to get. Leighton is very brave on the ball; he gets the ball in tight areas and looks to play forward. That's something we want from our midfield players," Goodwin added of Clarkson.
