Eighteen-year-old James Balagizi scored the first goals of his career at Broadfield Stadium as Kevin Betsy's side were beaten 3-2 by visitors Northampton Town. Balagizi finished off two well-crafted moves for his side by completing the entire game.
"Obviously, coming to play professional football, it's something you dream about as a kid, scoring your first goal," Balagizi reflected after the game. I'm very happy to do it here. It's a shame about the result, but I'm very happy to have scored my first two goals," he said.
"I've been working with the coaches on my definition. I've had a couple of chances in other games, but fortunately the work I've put in is starting to pay off," he added.
Conor Bradley scored the winner in Bolton Wanderers' 1-0 win over Morecambe in League One and picked up the man of the match award. The full-back has scored two goals and two assists in five games under Ian Evatt.
"It was a brilliant feeling to score again. I'm very happy with the three points. It was a hard-earned three points and the boys are delighted. I'm delighted to be here so far. Since I've arrived, the lads have been great to me. They've helped me settle in really well, I didn't expect to be top scorer, but we'll take it and keep working hard," Bradley said.
Meanwhile, Rhys Williams helped Blackpool keep a clean sheet as the Seasiders beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 at Loftus Road in the Championship. Ten-man Stockport County were beaten 2-1 by Doncaster Rovers in League Two, with Vitezslav Jaros in goal.
In the same division, Adam Lewis completed 58 minutes in Newport County's 3-2 home defeat by Salford City, while goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga contributed to Macclesfield FC's 3-1 win over Leek Town in Northern Premier League Division One West.
