Luis Diaz was outstanding in the 9-0 win over Bournemouth last Saturday for Liverpool. The Colombian scored twice in the win at Anfield Stadium, Jurgen Klopp's side's first win in four Premier League games.

Despite Diaz's great play, there is still some criticism of his personal life, and now there is an opinion column from Jordan Chamberlain, editor of Empire of the Kop, who took a swipe at the Colombian striker and compared him to former Reds player Sadio Mane.

What is he being blamed for and why is he being compared?

Chamberlain wrote on BBC England's website an analysis titled "A clinical and direct Diaz can reap even greater rewards", where he pointed out what the player has shown in his first games in the local competition. "In the first three games of the season, Diaz was guilty of spending too much time on the left flank and playing backwards rather than dribbling towards goal," Chamberlain wrote.

He was also criticised for being too far behind team-mate Mohamed Salah, opening up comparisons with a former team-mate who shone at the club and recently left for Bayern Munich. "Diaz needs to look more like Sadio Mané, who started out wide but always finished in the box. This will help him replace the goal return of the Senegalese superstar," he said.

Although the journalist extolled that the Guajiro has shown the ability to score three goals in four games, he concluded that the player "needs to use his skills clinically and directly to reap greater rewards". The Colombia striker has been self-critical about what he needs to work on to perform better and better for Liverpool.
