Colombian striker Luis Diaz did it again. In the 3rd minute he opened the scoring as Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 at Anfield. He would then score in the 85th minute to seal the Reds' home win, with a masterful performance from all players, although the finishing touch would have been a goal from Salah, who failed to get on the scoresheet all game.
In the third minute, Roberto Firmino got clear of a defender on the right before whipping in a cross, where Luis Diaz was ready to head home from six yards. The VAR checked for offside, but the goal stood, and the hosts wasted no time in adding to their lead. Diaz also headed home with five minutes of normal time remaining, equalling the Premier League record.
Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon. The Reds equalled a Premier League winning record to seal their first top-flight victory of the 2022-23 season.
Roberto Firmino reached 100 goals with a brace against AFC Bournemouth at Anfield. Firmino joined the club from German side Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015 and this 2022 became the 19th player to reach triple figures in Reds history in his 331st appearance.
Seventy-three of Firmino's goals have come in the Premier League so far, while 20 times he has managed to score in the Champions League, plus another goal in qualifying for European competition. The Brazilian has also scored twice in the FA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup respectively, and has scored single-handedly for the Reds in the League Cup and Europa League.
