As it usually happens in every transfer market in England, the best teams in the Premier League have a long battle strategy to try to convince through money and sporting projects to the best players who are living a great moment in Europe, having in recent months a big fight between Manchester United and Liverpool, as these two institutions have been causally interested in the same players.
Perhaps the most talked about signing a year ago was that of Darwin Núñez, and the Uruguayan former Benfica player had an offer on the table from both the Red Devils and Merseyside, preferring the South American to be under the orders of Klopp rather than join a team that at the time was surrounded by footballing and off-field problems with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Later, in the winter transfer window, the two sides came together again with interest in Cody Gakpo, who had performed well for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar, with the Anfield side again winning the deal and ultimately cashing in on a striker who had a difficult start to his career.
If winning those two signings had been enough for Liverpool, in the 2023 summer transfer window the Reds have once again shown United who is the favourite of the players, and even though the Reds Devils are a more solid project at the moment, the Brighton gem, Alexis Mac Allister, has still preferred the Merseysiders, and not even the Europa League has been an obstacle for this World Cup winner with Argentina to want to play alongside Mohamed Salah and to be managed by Jürgen Klopp.
