As often happens during the transfer market, what happens in one team can directly or indirectly affect others in a sort of domino effect. In this sense, it is not uncommon that the departure or permanence of a player in his current team can benefit another and that is the case with Harry Maguire, who after not agreeing his departure from Manchester United could be doing a great favor to our Liverpool.

During the summer there were many rumors about the departure of the player who just last season was the captain of the Red Devils, as it seems that the Dutch manager Erik ten Hag no longer wants him in the team, however Harry Maguire has a contract with them until 2025 so they needed to reach an agreement with him to get him out of the team and although it was rumored that he could go to West Ham, finally the 30-year-old English defender preferred to stay at Old Trafford.

This will reduce Manchester United's chances of signing more players this summer as the departure of the once most expensive defender in the world was essential for Erik ten Hag to add more players to his team, and this would benefit Liverpool as there are a couple of players that would be on the radar of both teams and with Maguire remaining at United, the Reds would have the advantage to sign them.

Liverpool and United's common targets

According to multiple reports and media, Liverpool and Manchester United share, at this stage of the transfer market, two players in common as targets for reinforcement. Benjamin Pavard and Ryan Garvenberch, both FC Bayern players who are reportedly looking to leave the Bavarian club and are of interest to both Jürgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag. We will have to wait and see if Liverpool finally decide to make a move for either of them, but at least they have the money to do so.
