Manchester United and Liverpool are looking to strengthen their respective defences for next season, with both Old Trafford and Anfield looking to the same player, and from 1 July there could be an intense head-to-head transfer window for Ajax Amsterdam's Dutch centre-back Jurrien Timber, for whom both sides will have to pay at least 50 million euros.

That is the amount demanded by the Johan Cruyff Arena team to let the 20-year-old centre-back leave, considered as one of the defenders of great projection and potential for the future in European football, impressing with great performances at Ajax, being an undisputed starter in the defence of the Dutch team and standing out for his quality and security on the field, being these the reasons why Manchester United and Liverpool would be looking to strengthen their defence with a Timber who would have his first big opportunity in a top European league.

Although the price of 50 million euros for Timber is high, both Manchester United and Liverpool seem willing to make an offer for the Dutch player, not discarding at the same time the appearance of other top teams in Europe willing to raise the bidding for the young centre-back from the Netherlands, who can undoubtedly star in one of the most important transfers of the summer.

A lot of competition

According to 'Corriere dello Sport', the player that Inter Milán have been keen on for the last few months is Jurrien Timber, currently playing for Ajax Amsterdam and one of the mainstays of the Netherlands national team. The Dutchman is a defender of full guarantees and with a lot of scope for projection since he is only 21 years old, he becomes one of the great targets of Inter in the event that Skriniar says goodbye. Timber is well tied by Ajax until 2025 and his market value already exceeds 45 million euros, so it seems a complicated signing for Inter, however, they will do their best to have him at their club next season.
