Over the past few weeks Mohamed Salah has been at the center of a series of rumors that place him playing in Saudi Arabia this season, as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad's interest in signing him has been reported and confirmed, however Liverpool management's stance is clear: Salah is untouchable.

It has been said in various media that in their desperation to try and sign the Pharaoh, the Arab club could go as far as offering £200 million to Liverpool, an amount that would no doubt raise doubts in one or two fans at the club, however Jürgen Klopp and the Reds board seem to have no intention of selling what is the best player in the team, especially when he wants to continue playing for the club.

Several former players have expressed their desire for Mohamed Salah to remain at Liverpool, including Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler, both managers of clubs in Saudi Arabia, who would rather see Salah continue his success at Anfield than move to the exotic Middle Eastern league. Now, however, Liverpool legend Michael Owen, has joined the voices speaking out against the possibility of Liverpool agreeing to sell Mohamed Salah this summer, as the former Reds striker has said that while the amount of money may be tempting, there is no way to replace Salah.

"His consistency is unbelievable. People can have a view of him as a player, obviously he's one of the world's best, but in terms of his output, the goals, the numbers he continues to post year-on-year, it's quite phenomenal (...) People can say 'oh but it's £200m, I'd sell him', and I hear it - I hear the argument. But, where do you find somebody that plays every single game? Never, ever gets injured, he's a model pro, scores all the time - big goals - has been there to win all the biggest trophies," he said.

Owen's record that Salah could break this season

Mohamed Salah never tires of breaking records and is now aiming to unseat Michael Owen on the list of top scorers in Premier League history. Owen scored 150 Premier League goals, and Mohamed Salah has 141, so he only needs nine more goals to catch him and 10 to surpass him. Will he make it this season?
