Mohamed Salah is one of six Liverpool players nominated for the Ballon d'Or

The 2022 Ballon d'Or nominations have been revealed and a list of Liverpool players are included.

This Friday night, the shortlists for several honors were announced, and the Egyptian once more made the Ballon d'Or 30-man list. Even though he only came in seventh place for the 2021 award, he was the only Liverpool player to receive a nomination the previous year.

He is joined by some of his Liverpool teammates this year. Diaz has received his first-ever nomination for the award, while Alexander-Arnold has been selected for a second time. Nunez and Fabinho, have also been nominated for the first time, while Van Dijk receives his second nod.

In honor of Soviet Union shot-blocker Lev Yashin, the prize was established in 2019. Three years ago, Alisson beat off Ter Stegen and Ederson to become the first player to ever receive the honor.
