The poor form of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah continues to generate debate around Liverpool. In just six Premier League games at the start of the season he has only scored two goals and provided two assists. This is in stark contrast to last season when he won the Premier League golden boot for 23 goals in 30 appearances.
At 30 years of age, the African is still an undisputed starter for German coach Jurgen Klopp's strategy. Following the departure of Senegal stadium Mane to Bayern Munich for 30 million euros, Salah was tipped to become the Reds' new star for the current season. however, he has not been able to cope with the pressure and his performances have been below expectations.

The favour Real Madrid would do Liverpool in the transfer window
The Egyptian king has had a very difficult 2022 on an individual level as his national team lost the final of the African Cup to Senegal. He was also left out of the Qatar World Cup after losing the last ticket to Senegal, where his former teammate Sadio Mané was playing. All this has meant that psychologically Salah is not at his best.
In this regard, former Liverpool star Luis Garcia Sainz said that in his opinion Salah needs a rest to be able to regain his level. In fact, the Spaniard had recommended to German coach Jurgen Klopp that he should not field him in the 41-41 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League group stage opener at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.
“I think that Mo Salah needed a rest (against Napoli). It’s very important that the players understand that it’s very difficult to play 63, 70 games that they played last year. There are going to be rotations because there’s a World Cup in between and some players are going to need a rest. He’s not running into the box, he’s far away from the box, too wide at times. He’s not close to the box where he’s very dangerous".
