Undoubtedly Fabinho is one of the best players that has passed through our Liverpool in recent years, as he arrived at Anfield with great expectations on his shoulders and it is fair to say that he far exceeded them, as he became one of the pillars of Jürgen Klopp's team that won every possible trophy with the Reds during the last golden era of our club.

Since his arrival in 2018, when the Liverpool board paid €42 million for him, Fabinho has performed at a high level that has seen him come to be considered a future legend of the team. However, everything seems to indicate that his days at Anfield are numbered, as the 29-year-old Brazilian midfielder has attracted the interest of Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League, a club that during this summer has demonstrated its enormous economic power by signing players such as the current Ballon d'Or, Karim Benzema, and the world champion N'Golo Kanté.

Although Jürgen Klopp had Fabinho in mind as a starting player for next season, the German tactician has not opposed his departure, after having a conversation with the Brazilian midfielder in which he expressed his desire to leave the team. For this reason, and seeing that Fabinho was no longer committed to the project, Klopp decided to give the green light for his sale, which could be completed in the coming days since Fabinho did not even travel with the rest of the team to the preseason in Germany.

Given this scenario, Jürgen Klopp already seems to have in mind the ideal player to take Fabinho's place and it is Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure, who last season was chosen as the best player of his team, as he was a key player for Crystal Palace to stay in the Premier League. However, the club has valued him at £70 million, which is considered by many to be too high a valuation for the 23-year-old defensive midfielder.

What does Liverpool think about Cheick Doucoure's price tag?

According to the BBC, Crystal Palace's exorbitant asking price for Cheick Doucoure's departure would be welcomed by Liverpool as they would think it is a fair price for the player. This could be a sign that the Anfield board would be willing to pay that amount to bring Doucoure to Liverpool.
