According to German media outlet Kicker, RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer has been linked with Liverpool as one of a number of potential new signings just days before the transfer window closes on 31 August, with several rumours growing and others being dismissed as the days go by.
The Austrian international would interest Jurgen Klopp's side in the possibility of signing him before this week's deadline. According to the report, the 25-year-old is in the final year of his contract and his price tag would be in the region of £25m.
Another report from Sky Sports Germany offers more details on Laimer's future. It is Bayern Munich, who have also been linked with the player. Bayern have been interested in Laimer throughout the summer, but the new report over the weekend suggests the German champions are no longer interested in the Leipzig midfielder.
Leipzig coach Oliver Mintzlaff spoke about Laimer's future last week, where he admitted a move was possible. Despite this, he insisted the midfielder was unlikely to change clubs this summer.
"I assume Konny will stay. But the transfer window is still open and we are still having some talks. The tendency is very, very big for him to stay with us," Mintzlaff told the Leipziger Volkszeitung.
