After a season where they won nothing and only managed to get into the Europa League, Liverpool have been working on restructuring their squad and putting together a solid team that can give Jürgen Klopp the tools to return to the top of European football. This, of course, involves the departure of some names who were once important to the team, but who, given their current form, will have to find a way out.

One of them is Thiago Alcántara. The Spanish midfielder arrived at Anfield at the peak of his career after winning the Champions League and was expected to be the team's driving force. However, injuries sidelined him for many parts of his three seasons at the Reds and with the recent signings he could be forced to leave to play elsewhere.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are Liverpool's two big midfield additions. Jürgen Klopp has in mind a midfield with the two of them and Fabinho as an anchor, which would give a lot of dynamism and balance to his game. With this, Thiago will not get the minutes he surely expects.

The reason

According to Neil Jones, a journalist who covers the 'Reds' on the website The Anfield Wrap, although there is no formal offer for the Spaniard so far, Liverpool's top brass have in mind to define a clear future for him in the coming days, especially because he still has one year left on his contract and they can make money with a possible sale.
