There are no surprises on Merseyside when it comes to the team's best player decision

Although the 2022-2023 season is being forgotten by both the team and the fans, who are already looking forward to the new restructuring based on new reinforcements, the last trace of the poor year was brought to the surface so that the fans could decide from their point of view who had been the most outstanding element in the whole process, being for people outside the club surprising that Mohamed Salah's name is not the one written as the winner.

While it is true that the Egyptian attacker managed to bring some stability to the squad throughout the year with his assists as well as his goals, Salah on this occasion seems to have been overshadowed by the consistency of Alisson Becker in goal, with the Reds' Brazilian star being singled out by the EstoEsAnfield account at least as the winner of the poll with an overwhelming 68% to just 24.2% for Salah, 5.2% for Trent Alexander Arnold and 2.5 for Roberto Firmino.

Just as Salah managed to break records inside and outside the institution with his goals, this goalkeeper with his great performances keeping his goal with a clean sheet managed to place himself as one of the best goalkeepers of the team and of the entire Premier League, highlighting in turn that great vision that was well used in the first match against Manchester City where he provided the assist for the solitary goal that gave them the victory.

Alisson is recognised by his fans

Without much controversy regarding the outcome of the voting, the vast majority of Merseyside fans agree that Becker was one of the most decisive players during the season and that the Brazilian and the Egyptian were the ones who did the heavy lifting to get that fifth place that at least gave them a ticket to the UEFA Europa League.
