With just a few weeks to go before the summer transfer window becomes the main talking point at Anfield, the Reds see Mac Allister and Sadio Mané as their main targets on the first day of sales, with manager Jürgen Klopp interested in some young talent to complement the squad, the only strange thing about it being their alleged interest in bringing back not only the Senegalese striker but also an old midfield acquaintance of Dutch origin.

According to the information that has been handled in recent days, speculation in the environment of the Reds have been so many that at some point the name of Gini Wijnaldum has emerged as an option for the midfield, and is that this element after having been Champions League champion with this institution in 2019, his course took a change to Italy where Roma gave him back some of that football that he was losing in England.

Although his role in José Mourinho's side has been variable, the Reds could try to bring him back to help them in their UEFA Europa League campaign, a tournament in which they recently finished runners-up and lost on penalties to Sevilla.

Wijnaldum to return for revenge

Without much chance of taking over a midfield position that at the time looked one of the most potent in all of England and almost all of Europe, Wijnaldum could take the Reds' interest as the perfect opportunity to fight his way back into a starting berth alongside the new reinforcements, having in his favour a wealth of experience gained during his time in Italy where he gained further experience with an A.S Roma side that returned to the top spots in Serie A and Europe.
