Manchester City centre-forward Erling Haaland is set to miss the Norway squad's matches

Manchester City centre-forward Erling Haaland is set to miss the Norway squad's matches against Spain and Georgia in a European Championship qualifier due to injury. Norway coach Stale Solbakken confessed that the player is devastated and very frustrated after missing official games for the Nordic team.

Haaland was devastated when I spoke to him in the room last midnight. He was upset," Solbakken confessed during the press conference. Haaland was sidelined with pubic discomfort, which he has been carrying since last week's FA Cup game after converting a hat-trick, but Solbakken stressed the City player's disappointment at not being able to play for Norway. "If you had seen him in my hotel room at twelve o'clock at night, you would have understood. He's very frustrated, he's done everything he could," he confessed.

Liverpool England striker Darwin Nunez will not be part of Uruguay's squad for the friendlies against Japan and Korea due to injury. He will be replaced by striker Jonathan Rodriguez, who had been booked by interim coach Marcelo Broli. The Uruguayan Football Association announced that Darwin Núñez is suffering from an injury that prevents him from playing in the friendly matches in March. Uruguay will face Japan on 24 March, and on 28 March they will take on South Korea in La Celeste's first matches after their participation in the last World Cup.

The two in doubt

Liverpool return to action on Saturday 1 April when they visit Manchester City in the 29th Premier League fixture. According to The Athletic, Darwin Nunez has a good chance of recovering and being available for the game. But that is not the case for Haaland, who is expected to miss several weeks and would be the big absentee for the clash.
