Darwin Nunez proved better than Erling Haaland in Liverpool's FA Community Shield win over Manchester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. In the win, Darwin Nunez capitalised with a goal, the Reds' third, while Haaland had a chance to pull a goal back with only the keeper to beat but sent his shot over the bar near the end of the game.

The Reds lifted the trophy for the first time in 16 years on Saturday as goals from Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah (penalty) and Darwin Nunez defeated Manchester City 3-1 at King Power Stadium.

Trent Alexander talks about Nunez

"A top player. A young player who you can tell is willing to learn. He has bonded well with the lads, everyone has got on well with him. He has come in, got his head down, worked hard so far and knows his position is not just going to be there because we bought him this summer, he’s got to earn it. He came on today with a point to prove and he scored us the goal to clinch it and obviously won the pen for us as well."
