Darwin Núñez revealed a conversation he had with Marcelo Bielsa on Zoom. The Argentinian corrected him on some things in the run-up to Uruguay's debut against Chile in the qualifiers.
Marcelo Bielsa prepares Uruguay's debut in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Uruguay will debut against the Chilean national team and Bielsa does not want to leave anything to chance: that is why he communicates with his selected players through Zoom to give them advice with September in mind.
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez revealed what he has been talking to Bielsa about over the last few days. After scoring a brace in his side's Premier League win over Newcastle, the striker revealed a call from Bielsa to correct "some things".
"Some things he thinks are better. Like, when the whole opposing team is behind, not to run in front of the second centre-back: to run behind so that he loses the mark," he illustrated in conversation.
"It was a very good chat with him. It's a new stage with the national team and I hope it goes well," added the striker, who also revealed that he wants to take the 9 from Luis Suarez in the qualifying debut. After that talk, Darwin Nunez was able to shine for Liverpool this Sunday in the win over Newcastle with two goals that gave his team the victory.
