Mohamed Salah is Liverpool's best player and on Thursday he celebrated his 31st birthday just hours after playing for Egypt in a 2-1 African Cup qualifier against Guinea in which he was reunited with former Liverpool team-mate Naby Keïta.

The Egyptian striker had a game of contrasts as, although he missed a very clear goal-scoring chance with the goalkeeper already beaten, he was also able to play a part in his team's victory by providing an assist. Through social media Liverpool congratulated the Pharaoh on his birthday and the countless comments from Reds fans have shown that he is the most loved player in the team.

However, it is now crunch time for the future of Sala and Liverpool itself as according to a French media outlet the striker will have a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain owner Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in Morocco to discuss a possible star signing this summer with next season in mind to bring him in as a replacement for Lionel Messi.

The amount

The same reports indicate that the Parisian team would be willing to pay up to 80 million to sign Salah, which would undoubtedly mean a low blow for Liverpool and especially for the German coach Jürgen Klopp, who has considered him as the basis of the project for next season in which the team will seek to return to be protagonist and fight to win the Premier League as well as return to the Champions League. On the other hand, it was confirmed that Salah will not be with Liverpool for the matches from 13 January to 11 February next year due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. The games he will miss are: Bournemouth, Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley.
