Pele, a black, underprivileged child born in Tres Coracoes, reminded us that there is always a different way. In addition to winning three World Cups and netting 95 goals in 113 games for Brazil's national team, he kept a promise to his father that he would do so.

We can only be grateful to the King for leaving us a new Brazil. Pele passed away. the happiest of persons and the most divine of football players. He engaged in a game that only few chosen ones have even approached. He lifted the most prized gold trophy three times while wearing that stunning yellow shirt.
