In recent years our Liverpool has been home to great players and young talents who have thrilled the fans with their good performances. However, there are players who put money before love for a club and our Liverpool has witnessed this.
Before the glorious era of Salah, Mané and Firmino, there was another trident that thrilled everyone at Anfield as they showed they had the potential to be the great terror of opposing defenses, not only in the Premier League but all over Europe, as Liverpool witnessed Luis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling grow before our eyes and become the next stars of the team.
However, none of the three stayed long at Anfield, as they decided to emigrate to other teams. But perhaps the departure that upset the fans the most was Sterling's, as our promising youngster traded us for money when he left for Manchester City, a move that marked his history with Liverpool forever as now every time Raheem steps foot at Anfield, the fans remind him of his betrayal of the club.
However, karma comes sooner or later, and the fact is that Raheem Sterling, although he is still a young player as he is 28 years old, did not become the superstar that Liverpool fans thought he could become and now he is not even an undisputed starter in his team and also next season he will not play in Europe.
Currently Raheem Sterling is a Chelsea player, a team in which he has failed to establish himself as a starter. Last season was so bad on the part of the London club that they were left out of any European competition, so Sterling and Chelsea will have to be content with watching other teams compete at the continental level.
