Jürgen Klopp left the door open for a new signing ahead of the game against Crystal Palace, a player to arrive in midfield amid an injury crisis that has cost him two draws in the opening two Premier League fixtures, but he is also doing his best not to spend any more money in this summer's transfer window amid the absentees.

Meanwhile, transfer rumours continue to circulate and the most attention-grabbing are those of Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio, who has reportedly been "offered" to Liverpool this summer. On the other hand, another possible player to sign is Ismael Bennacer from Milan, who could be on the move if his demands for a new contract are not met.

Marco Asensio

EAsensio is a name that has been closely linked with Liverpool this summer and it has now been revealed by Mundo Deportivo, via Paisley Gates, that he was offered to Jurgen Klopp's side by his agent Jorge Mendes. The Spaniard would be keen on a move this summer in search of World Cup minutes. With Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino injured, along with Nunez suspended for three games, the Reds could be tempted by a deal.

Bennacer

Liverpool were also looking for midfielders this summer, after injuries to Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the Reds could be forced back into the transfer market. Bennacer is one of the names that have emerged, although recent reports suggest he could be on the verge of signing a new contract with the Serie A club. However, the Algerian will only stay if the demands of his new contract, which consists of a €2 million per season pay rise, are met.

According to La Gazette du Fennec, Bennacer wants to move from a current salary of €1.5m (£1.2m) net per season to around €3.5m (£2.9m), but if the Rossoneri reject his wishes, he could make the decision to leave the club.
