One of the most charismatic strikers and one who has most endeared himself to the fans has been Peter Crouch. The 2.01m tall giant won a place in the heart of Anfield as he always proved to be a dedicated and committed player to the Liverpool cause, as well as scoring some beautiful goals.
In 2005, Crouch arrived at Anfield to a Liverpool side that had just won the UEFA Champions League in the historic Miracle of Istanbul. His stay with the Reds was perhaps the most successful of his career, as he managed to win an FA Cup and a Community Shield with our club. Despite not having had the best start with Liverpool, Crouch never gave up and thanks to his goal he gave us a victory over Manchester United in the FA Cup, the first in history.
Peter Crouch scored a total of 22 goals for our Liverpool, and although the numbers do not place him as one of the best, he has undoubtedly been one of the most resilient players in the history of the team, as he never gave up and always gave everything to see Liverpool succeed. Unlike other players of great renown who have come to our club, Peter Crouch managed to win titles and his goals, although few, made Anfield happy, and the fans will always remember him with great affection.
After his retirement from professional football, Peter Crouch had stayed away from the world of football, however in recent years he has launched his own podcast in which he talks about football and other things. We can see him slim, as always, and with great energy.
