England have warned of interest in the Scotland captain should Ferland Mendy leave the club. Plans begin for next season 2023/2024. In addition to Jude Bellingham, they are looking for a centre-forward and also to reinforce the left-back position, and from England another name has been mentioned if Ferland Mendy ends up leaving in the summer transfer window.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Andy Robertson is on Real Madrid's transfer shortlist. The Scotland captain is an important part of Jurgen Klopp's plans at Liverpool and has a contract with the Anfield outfit until 30 June 2026. At the moment, Robertson has shown no inclination to leave Liverpool, but that could change if the Reds fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season. Klopp's side are currently fifth in the table, three points behind Manchester United, who have a game in hand.

If they are out of the Champions League and an offer from Real Madrid arrives, Andrew Robertson could be in favour of a move to continue playing in European football's top competition. Everything will depend on what happens with Ferland Mendy in the coming weeks. The French full-back has suffered a number of physical problems this season, which has left him less involved than he was last term, with 27 appearances in all competitions and less than 2,000 minutes played with the final three La Liga games to go.

Out against Southampton

While Real Madrid want to pay up to 80 million for the Scotland captain, German manager Jürgen Klopp announced that Robertson has picked up a groin injury and will miss Sunday's game against Southampton
