Recovering from injury has never been so epic. Bayern Munich have set a precedent in football today by releasing a lengthy video of the entire journey Sadio Mané went through to recover from his right fibula head injury, which left him out for several months and out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup with Senegal.
With 'The return of Sadio Mané', the Bavarians showed what the Senegalese attacker had to go through. In this way, an extensive - and painful - process is shown where he is seen training alone, firstly, and then with the group.
The club announced the new film on their social media: "Big surprise for FC Bayern and the Senegal national team: shortly before the World Cup in Qatar, Sadio Mané is injured and will therefore be out for weeks. We accompanied Sadio as he gave his all in his daily work, step by step, to finally be able to be back on the pitch. Enjoy the documentary about Sadio's development!".
In an interview, the Senegalese spoke about his former coach Jurgen Klopp who he described as very demanding, but helpful to the player: “Klopp is Klopp. He’s a mix of the old and new generation. He’s got so much experience and his life is all about football, but he’s also demanding. Sometimes, very, very, very, very much so. He is very emotional. Almost ready to fight.
