Mohamed Salah said he knows the records he can break at Liverpool, but he is just trying to get the team to win games: "It's not just about my record, it's about me wanting the team to win the Premier League and Champions League this season".

Salah also revealed the secret to being a goalscorer at Liverpool ahead of Monday night's game against Manchester United, explaining how focusing on the "small details" has helped improve his performance for Liverpool.

That strategy has given him at least 31 goals and 15 assists in all competitions last season, with the Reds winning two of the four trophies. Now, in the first three games of the new campaign he has already scored two goals and created two more for his team-mates, with Jürgen Klopp's side now preparing to face rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Salah's words

"Two years ago everyone was saying: 'You've never scored against United', so life changed. But it's always like that in my mind: I try to score goals to help the team win games and get points, that's the most important thing."

If the 30-year-old manages to score in the next game, he will reach 159 goals, which will put him eighth on Liverpool's all-time goalscoring list. Although Salah only sees the opportunity to contribute to the team's ambitions of returning to more silverware as a priority. "I'm very focused on the small details because I think the small details, at the end of the day, are going to make a big difference between players." he said.
