Liverpool topped the Globe Soccer Awards held on Thursday in Dubai. The Merseyside club had the best player with the Tik Tok award going to Mohamed Salah, beating his closest challenger Karim Benzema of Real Madrid. This further increases the rivalry between the two players ahead of their Champions League last-16 clash in February.

The Globe Soccer Awards ceremony was held in Dubai on Thursday 17 November. After the Ballon d'Or and The Best Awards, the last individual award of the year remained. Karim Benzema was once again recognised as the best footballer of the year.

With just a few days to go until the start of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Globe Soccer Awards gala was held just three days before the start of the big event. This was the 13th edition of the awards, which recognise the best players, coaches, clubs, presidents and agents of the year.

Given what has happened at previous prestigious awards such as the Ballon d'Or and The Best Awards, there were clear favourites for the individual awards this 2023. There were no major surprises at the gala, with predictable awards in both men's and women's football.

Salah won Player of the Year award
