After a season of very bad memories in the Premier League, Liverpool are now set to continue with a host of work to help improve a squad that aims to have multiple improvements on the pitch in order to compete for the league title as well as the UEFA Europa League next season.
While it may seem that all of Liverpool's moves for substantial improvement will be in the transfer market in a few weeks' time, the squad that will remain with the Reds for at least another season is already working on internal changes, with Mohamed Salah taking over the captaincy being one of a number of changes in the pipeline.
Salah's new role in the team is not especially for his goals, records or all that he has achieved for the team over the years, but rather for the way he understands the needs of the squad and his teammates, with the AnfieldWacht account revealing that the Egyptian will always be there to listen to anyone who needs to be heard, much like Jordan Henderson himself who will be stepping down from his captaincy role to take up other roles in defence. "Hendo does the same and other players, I'm not saying it's just me saying that. But I'm always there, open to the players if they want to talk."
With Hendo understanding that Salah is living a peak moment in his Liverpool playing career, the midfielder and Liverpool veteran knows that his job as the on-field commander must be inherited to someone else, with Jordan for the next campaign most likely fulfilling specific roles that Klopp will entrust to him, such as adopting a much more defensive stance whenever he sees game time.
